Brocade Certified Ethernet Fabric Engineer

This course introduces Brocade VCS™ technology, Ethernet fabrics, Brocade VDX 6710, 6720 and 6730 data center switches, associated protocols and technologies. The course includes installation, configuration, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of the Brocade VDX switches using the Command Line Interface (CLI) and Brocade Network OS (BNOS). This course serves as the foundation for Brocade VCS and Ethernet fabric technologies along with features offered by the Brocade VDX switches.

This course is designed for network architects, designers and administrators, system administrators and engineers, professional services personnel, technical sales engineers, and support personnel, including anyone needing the detailed foundational information to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Brocade Ethernet Fabrics and VDX switches.

CNE200 - Brocade Certified Network Engineer (BCNE)

Course Objective
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
• Describe the Brocade product line along with physical layer SAN components
• Review Fibre Channel concepts
• Install, configure, and verify functionality of switches in a Brocade Fabric
• Perform maintenance tasks that include downloading firmware, validating firmware download processes and saving/backing up switch configuration files
• Configure, verify, administer, and describe Brocade Zoning
• Configure a zone merge for two separate SANs using Fabric Manager
• Describe and evaluate multi-switch fabric routing and routing policies
• Describe multi-switch fabric trunking and distance solutions
• Describe management tools and interfaces used to manage Brocade Fabrics
• Describe and utilize Brocade error messages, commands, and diagnostics
