This course builds on IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus User. Learn about OMNIbus installation and licensing procedures, configuring security and component communications, and product architecture and implementation. Examine examples of ObjectServer SQL syntax and automations. The main focus is on the deployment, configuration, and everyday maintenance of Netcool/OMNIbus from the administrators perspective. Begin hands-on labs with OMNIbus installation on a classroom server; then cover the standard configuration objects. Complete practice exercises that demonstrate how to perform administrative tasks using the OMNIbus Administrator Graphical User Interface (GUI), command line tools, and process control. Also, learn about the administration and configuration of OMNIbus in a network and systems environment.

Knowledge Prerequisites
You should complete: IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus User
You should also have the following skills and knowledge: Practical understanding of UNIX system administration, including: UNIX Editor vi; UNIX and Linux directory and command-line structures; basic utilities such as PS, GREP, Telnet, and File Transfer Protocol (FTP); diagnosing and resolving causes of software problems, TCP/IP, network management, and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) concepts, Basic shell scripting or programming, and database terminology.
