This course instructs the students how to set up a modern LAN with the Ethernet routing switches of the ERS 2500, 4500, and 5000 series of Nortel. In this context, the course will also treat the theoretical basic knowledge about VLANs and redundant LAN design. Many hands-on exercises serve to deepen the know-how of the students.

Knowledge Prerequisites
For a successful participation in the course, knowledge on the sectors Ethernet and Internetworking is recommendable. This know-how is imparted, for instance, in the Ethernet, Routing & Switching - Technology Fundamentals course.
