A firewall is meant to prevent attacks made from the insecure part of a network on the secure part. But what do you do if the attacker has overcome the firewall or if he has been located in the secure part of the network right from the start? This is when Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) Systems come into play. The configuration of Juniper IDP sensors in a typical network is explained in this course by means of hands-on exercises.

Technicians and administrators who want to configure and operate Juniper IDP sensors should attend this course.

Knowledge Prerequisites
Profound knowledge of the Security Manager and of ScreenOS, as imparted by attending the SMF-Security Manager Fundamentals and CJFV-Configuring Juniper Networks Firewalls/IPSec VPN Products courses is recommendable. Moreover, a good know-how of the security sector is mandatory.
