This course imparts the know-how required for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of a small Cisco network, for instance a branch office. This includes the basic configuration of switches and routers, the WAN connection, and network security. Practical exercises on a test network permit the students to directly implement their new know-how. The contents of this course are required for the CCNA(r) certification and the optionally prior CCENT certification (Cisco Certified Entry Network Technican). The course prepares the student for exam 640-822 (ICND1) for the CCENT certification, which combined with exam 640-816 (ICND2) leads to the CCNA certification. Alternatively, the student can take exam 640-802 (CCNA), which tests the know-how acquired in both ICND1 and ICND2.
