The course at hand deals with the implementation of Cisco voice gateways and gatekeepers in enterprise or service provider environments. It enables the participants to install, configure, monitor, and fault-clear Cisco gateways and gatekeepers in corporate networks in accordance with the recommendations of the Cisco Solution Reference Network Design Guide for IP Telephony (SRND). The contents of the course prepare the participants for test no. 642-453 (GWGK), which is required for certification as CCVP. Course Contents • Functions of Gateways and Gatekeepers • Integration of a VoIP Network into PSTN and PBX Environments • Cisco IOS Gateways for SIP, H.323, and MGCP • Implementation of Advanced Gateway Features • PBX and PSTN Trunks (Analog and Digital) • Call Number Plans • Call Admission Control (CAC) with RSVP • Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) • Enhanced Media Resources • Fax and Modem Support • Call Applications • Application of Gatekeepers; Redundant Gatekeepers • Gatekeeper-Based CAC • Distributed and Centralized Installation • IP-to-IP Gateways • Troubleshooting In this course, each student will receive the original Cisco Systems course documentation in English language. Target Group The primary target group of this course consists of network engineers, designers, and administrators, who are responsible for the operation and planning of IP telephony and design and implement networks for the application of voice over IP. Knowledge Prerequisites Participants should already have been certified as CCNA® and should have a basic know-how of telecommunications and of the classical voice sector. In addition, they should have attended the CVOICE course or have a similar know-how level. An understanding of the functions of the Cisco Call Manager Express is a mandatory prerequisite. GWGK |
