Complex environments like data centers frequently require an abundance of firewalls (security gateways), which are independent of each other. Check Point VPN-1 VSX NGX offers the option to provide security gateways in a virtual mode. A single platform serves to operate an abundance of logically independent firewalls in parallel. The course at hand instructs the participants to install Check Point VPN-1 VSX NGX on a server with the Secure Platform as operating system and to create security policies for virtual systems via the Provider-1 Multi-Domain GUI (MDG). The course prepares the participants for the examination no. 156-816 in the context of the certification as Check Point Certified Managed Security Expert NGX Plus VSX (CCMSE NGX Plus VSX). Course Contents • The VSX Architecture • Virtual Systems, Virtual Routers, and Virtual Switches • IP Addresses in a VSX Environment • Installation and Configuration of the VSX Management Servers • System Requirements, Licensing, and Upgrades • Installation and Configuration of a VSX Gateway • Communication between VSX Gateways and VSX Management Servers • Virtual Systems: State Tables, Security Policies, Configuration Parameters, and Logging • Virtual Routers and Switches • Advanced Routing Configurations • VSX and VLANs: Tagging, Tag Composition, Trunking, and Membership • Virtual Systems in the Bridge Mode • High Availability: Clustering and State Synchronization In this course, each participant will receive the original Check Point course documentation in English language. Target Group Administrators and security managers who wish to install and operate the Check Point VPN-1 VSX NGX should attend this course. Knowledge Prerequisites Prior to attending this course, participants should visit the courses Check Point Security Administration NGX I, Check Point Security Administration NGX II and Check Point Provider-1 NGX or have an equivalent knowledge level.
