CCIE Voice students are required to prove their comprehensive practical experience with voice protocols and Cisco components in the scope of a one-day lab exam. The prep lab prepares the students for the configuration and troubleshooting of complex network structures with Voice over IP. Typical tasks and test scenarios will be discussed and practiced in exercises. Course Contents The course focuses on the hands-on preparation for the CCIE Voice lab exam. Special configurations and troubleshooting will be carried out. Knowledge gaps referring to the applied protocols and technologies can thus be closed systematically and within the appropriate context. The contents are, among others: • Catalyst Voice and Data VLAN Configuration • Analog and IP Phones • Call Manager and Call Manager Express Configuration • Voice Gateway and Signaling • Call Routing, Call Admission Control • Voice Codecs and Fax • High-Availability Features • Media Resource Management • QoS on Routers and Switches • Unified Messaging, CRS/IPCC Express Applications • Further Voice Services and Applications In the CCIE Voice workshop, selected information is provided about the relevant protocols and the handled test scenarios. Target Group This particularly practice-oriented CCIE seminar was specifically created as a preparation for the CCIE Voice lab exam and therefore exclusively addresses students intending to take the CCIE Voice exam. Knowledge Prerequisites The CCIE Voice certification demands wide-ranging know-how about voice components of Cisco systems and their application in LANs and WANs. The required know-how about quality of service and voice transmission protocols can be gathered in the scope of a CCVP certification or proved by means of appropriate practical experience. The successful participation in the theory exam required for the admission to the lab exam is a prerequisite for this preparation course.
