CCDE Design candidates must prove their comprehensive practical experience of designing network solutions with Cisco components in the scope of a one-day practical exam. In contrast to the lab exams, the purpose is not to configure or troubleshoot devices in a test network but to solve design tasks according to customer requirements. This is done in the scope of a PC-based simulation. The requirements and other information will be provided in the form of e-mails, network sketches and further documents and the candidate will be guided through the individual tasks step-by-step. The exam can only be taken in selected test centers. Only candidates who have passed the CCDE written exam 352-001 will be admitted to the practical exam 352-011.
Course Contents
The course focuses on the hands-on preparation for the CCDE practical exam 352-011. It includes the following:
• Gathering, clarifying and analyzing the requirements made on a network
• Deducing functional specifications from the requirements
• Creating a network design based on the functional specifications
• Planning the implementation of design changes
• Justifying design decisions and the chosen technology
In the CCDE workshop, selected information will be provided about the relevant contents and the handled test scenarios.
Target Group
This particularly practice-oriented CCIE seminar was specifically created as a preparation for the CCDE Design practical exam and therefore exclusively addresses students intending to take the CCDE exam.
Knowledge Prerequisites
The CCDE certification requires comprehensive knowledge from the worlds of voice and video communication, data networks and storage. Usually, several years of experience in network design are required.
