This instructor-led training provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to deploy and manage Brocade B-Series Directors and Backbones. Topics include Director and Backbone chassis and blade hardware components. Director and Backbone configuration, firmware management, and troubleshooting concepts will also be covered. This course provides information on Fabric OS v6.3 features related to Directors and Backbones. Hands-on lab exercises apply the concepts defined in class.
Target Group
This course is designed for storage administrators, SAN administrators, system administrators, SAN architects, and systems engineers involved in the design, deployment, and management of Brocade chassis-based SANs.
Knowledge Prerequisites
• Six months experience with storage and storage area networks
• Brocade Introduction to Administration and Theory or equivalent knowledge
• Introduction to Fibre Channel Concepts Web-based Training
Course Objective
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
• List key differences between the various B-Series chassis products.
• Evaluate supported blade cards.
• Discuss blade card architecture.
• Configure key features and functionality.
• Perform management tasks using the CLI, DCFM and Web Tools.
• Diagnose common hardware problems.
• Describe Brocade Fabric OS interoperability with M-EOS fabrics.
• Provide an overview of Virtual Fabrics and optionally create a Virtual Fabric environment that includes a DCX or DCX-4S.
